Russian Challenge

Play MMo in Russian, no translation help. I don’t speak, read, or understand Russian.

Update: Installation Success! Now its time to patch. So far my MMO experience and installation experience pretty much gets me to the point where I am now patching the game client.

I hope that the game does not include any malware, because it could have asked me to install anything.

I wonder if EULA counts if I never understood when it asked me about it. Oh well.

The Russian Challenge.

A friend of mine at work is naturalize citizen who originally came from Russia.

He has challenged me to play a free to play MMO in the Russian language (which I know nothing about).

The game is called Allods http://allods.mail.ru/

I do believe they have an English client and server but I have been challenged to play on the Russian Client and Russian Server.

He would like to see how I attempt to communicate and play the game.

I see this as an opportunity to see if user interfaces rely heavily on language for logical navigation and if by sheer experience playing video games if I can guess my way through.

The first hump of the challenge has been completed. Without using a translation tool I was successfully to able navigate the website and to create my account.
